An interesting game took place in Tokyo where 4th placed Airlines R. (3-4) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Chanson V-M (2-5) 88-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Airlines R.. The game was mostly controlled by Chanson V-M. Airlines R. was better in second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Airlines R. to just 5 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Airlines R. 39-20 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Key Miho (176-85) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. International swingman Saori Fujiyoshi (178-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) answered with 23 points (made all of her seven free throws) and international forward Reika Takahashi (177-88) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Airlines R.Chanson V-M moved-up to sixth place. Airlines R. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Chanson V-M will have a break next round. Airlines R. will play again on the road against Chanson V-M (#6) in Shizuoka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
