Regular Season Round 7: Fujitsu RW - Denso Iris 48-62

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Fujitsu RW (6-1) in Kawasaki on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Denso Iris (4-3) 62-48. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Denso Iris forced 19 Fujitsu RW turnovers. It was a great evening for international center Maki Takada (183-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Tamotsu Huziwara (175-87) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso Iris maintains fourth place with 4-3 record. Fujitsu RW at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Denso Iris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play again on the road against Denso Iris in Kariya and is hoping to win this game.
