There was a small surprise in Sant'Arcangelo where sixth ranked Santarcangelo (2-4) defeated bottom-ranked Ruvo (0-6) 73-63 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Santarcangelo. Ruvo was better in third quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Santarcangelo forced 27 Ruvo turnovers. Forward Giorgio Broglia (198-86) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) chipped in 11 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Latvian forward Gints Antrops (202-82, agency: Interperformances) with 15 points and Marco Tagliabue (206-86) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds.
