Regular Season Round 3: Tochigi Brex - Aishin SH 72-86

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Tochigi Brex (0-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Aishin Sea Horses (5-2) 86-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Tochigi Brex was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tochigi Brex's 40. It was a great evening for the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American forward Anthony Richardson (201-83, college: Florida St., agency: TSS Management) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international forward Tomoo Amino (196-80) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 5-2 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Tochigi Brex lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Panasonic Trians (#6) in Osaka in the next round. Tochigi Brex will play on the road against the league's second-placed Hitachi Sunrockers in Osaka and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
