Regular Season Round 2: Netanya - Maccabi Ashdod 86-90

We should mention about the upset which took place in Netanya, where bottom-ranked Elitzur Netanya (0-1) lost at home to ninth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (1-1) 86-90 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Elitzur Netanya won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Ramel Bradley (188-85, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 24 points. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Elitzur Netanya still closes the standings with one game lost. Maccabi Ashdod will have a break next round. Elitzur Netanya will play on the road against the league's second-placed Maccabi T-A (#2) in Tel-Aviv.
