Undefeated leader BC Nokia delivered the fourth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Torpan Pojat (0-5) 114-57. The game without a history. BC Nokia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Torpan Pojat to just 4 points in third quarter. BC Nokia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Torpan Pojat's 30 and made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game, while Torpan Pojat only scored nine points from the stripe. BC Nokia forced 32 Torpan Pojat turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of swingman Shawn Hopkins (194-95) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and American forward Darren Townes (201-86, college: Hofstra) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five BC Nokia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Sauli Silvonen (186-83) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Topias Suortti (201-94) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BC Nokia have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with FoKoPo. Loser Torpan Pojat still closes the standings with five games lost. BC Nokia will meet at home league's second-placed Forssan Koripojat in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Torpan Pojat will have a break next round.
