Everything could happen in Mahon at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Menorca Basquet and 12th ranked Caceres 2016 had identical 2-3 record. This time Menorca Basquet used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Caceres 84-61 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Menorca Basquet led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for center Oliver Arteaga (211-83) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Swingman David Navarro (192-83) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Menorca Basquet players scored in double figures. Belizean-American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (200-88) added 12 points in the effort for Caceres 2016. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Menorca Basquet (3-3) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Caceres 2016 lost third consecutive game. Loser Caceres 2016 dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Menorca Basquet will face Baloncesto Leon (#17) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Caceres 2016 will play against Canarias (#3) in Tenerife.
