Regular Season Round 6: Casalpusterlengo - San Severo 92-72
Date: October 23, 2011
Not a big story in a game when one of their biggest challengers Mazzeo San Severo (2-4) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Casalpusterlengo (5-1) 92-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Casalpusterlengo. Mazzeo San Severo was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Five Casalpusterlengo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Giovanni Fattori (202-85) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81) scored 19 points. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Perugia, which they share with Torino. Loser Mazzeo San Severo dropped to the third place with four games lost. Casalpusterlengo will face league's leader Recanati on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mazzeo San Severo will play against Santarcangelo in Sant'Arcangelo and be promoted back to the Lega2 just one year after relegation.
