Regular Season Round 8: Denso Iris - Fujitsu RW 81-62

There was a change at the WJBL leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fujitsu RW (6-2). They were crushed by fourth ranked Denso Iris (5-3) 81-62 on Sunday night. Denso Iris dominated on the defensive end, holding Fujitsu RW to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tamotsu Huziwara (175-87) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and international center Maki Takada (183-89) who added 21 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Denso Iris players scored in double figures. International power forward Ayumi Suzuki (179-85) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso Iris have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 5-3 record. Fujitsu RW at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by JX Sunflowers who have the same record. Fujitsu RW will play next round against Chanson V-M trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Denso Iris will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Airlines R. in Tokyo.
