There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Chieti (2-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Torino (5-1) 83-77 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 34-23 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Marco Portannese (192-89, agency: Players Group) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized San Marino Federico Tassinari (195-77, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Emanuele Rossi (208-82) with 9 points and 12 rebounds and forward Roberto Feliciangeli (203-74) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Chieti players scored in double figures. Torino have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Casalpusterlengo.
