Everything went according to plan in Helsinki where first ranked Torpan Pojat (5-1) outscored 10th ranked LrNMKY (2-5) 107-72 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Torpan Pojat. LrNMKY was better in third quarter 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Torpan Pojat dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to LrNMKY's 42. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jonathan Heard (198-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and forward Carl Lindbom (204-91) who added 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. American guard DeAndre Haynes (187-84, college: Kent St., agency: Court Side) responded with 25 points and his fellow American import forward Tyler Tiedeman (201-85, college: Boise St., agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torpan Pojat have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. LrNMKY at the other side dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. Torpan Pojat will face Kouvot (#7) in Kouvola in the next round where they are favorite. LrNMKY will play at home against Tampereen Pyrinto.
