Regular Season Round 7: Clinicas Rincon - Lobe Huesca 83-63

Clinicas Rincon has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Lobe Huesca (2-5) 83-63. It looked good early as Lobe Huesca took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Clinicas Rincon had a 21-13 second period charge getting the lead and Lobe Huesca was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-83. Clinicas Rincon brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Alejandro Abrines (198-93) who led the winners and scored 18 points. Center Maodo Nguirane (210-93) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Clinicas Rincon's coach Manuel Povea allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Maurice McNeil (205-87, college: Houston) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Miguel Montanana (206-80) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lobe Huesca in the defeat. Clinicas Rincon maintains eighteenth place with 1-6 record. Lobe Huesca at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Clinicas Rincon will play against higher ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (#16) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lobe Huesca will play against Basquet Mallorca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
