Regular Season Round 6: Nantes - Arras 88-82

We should mention about the upset which took place in Nantes, where higher ranked Arras (3-3) lost to thirteenth ranked Nantes Reze (2-4) in a road game 82-88 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-19. But Arras won second period 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arras was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Lenae Williams (186-79, college: De Paul, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 34 points (!!!). International center Doriane Tahane (192-89) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (187-82, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Joyce Cousseins-Smith (165-88) added 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nantes Reze moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Arras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Nantes Reze will face higher ranked Bourges (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
