Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked S. La Spezia (4-1) won against on the road 11th ranked Ancona (1-4) 57-43 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by S. La Spezia. Ancona was better in second period 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ancona to just 7 points in fourth quarter. S. La Spezia forced 24 Ancona turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Marija Micovic (183-82, agency: Players Group) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Ancona will play against Il Fotoamatore Firenze and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
