Regular Season Round 5: DCU Saints - B.Gais Neptune 87-60

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked B.Gais Neptune (3-2) in Dublin on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by first ranked DCU Saints (5-1) 87-60. DCU Saints dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to B.Gais Neptune's 42. DCU Saints forced 30 B.Gais Neptune turnovers and outrebounded them 63-42 including a 28-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Patrick Glover (193-77) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Latvian center Martins Provizors (202-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five DCU Saints players scored in double figures. American power forward Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and forward Ian McLoughlin (185-85) added 15 points in the effort for B.Gais Neptune. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. DCU Saints have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite that victory DCU Saints went down to second position due to points difference. B.Gais Neptune at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. DCU Saints are looking forward to face league's second-placed UL Eagles in Limerick in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. B.Gais Neptune will have a break next round.
