We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Tenerife (2-2) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (2-2) 80-73. Tenerife was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 27-12 third quarter run of Fontedoso Carrefour. The winners were led by Haitian-American center Robert Joseph (204-78, college: Union, TN) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Luis Parejo (196-89) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry, agency: Prossin Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Tenerife. point guard Ignacio Guigou (186-91) added 19 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fontedoso Carrefour moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Tenerife and Lan Mobel ISB. Fontedoso Carrefour will have a break next round.
