Regular Season Round 4: Hitachi SR - Tochigi Brex 81-60

No shocking result in a game in Osaka where third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (6-2) smashed 7th ranked Tochigi Brex (2-6) 81-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hitachi Sunrockers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Tochigi Brex was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. International guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and international power forward Shunsuke Ito (204-79) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-2 record behind leader Aishin SH. Loser Tochigi Brex dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play at home against Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
