Regular Season Round 6: Residence - T71 70-81

Diekirch League top team - T71 (6-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Residence (2-4) in Bereldange 81-70. The game was mostly controlled by T71. Residence managed to win fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international power forward Frank Muller (194-88, college: Cuesta JC) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Denell Stephens (193-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five T71 players scored in double figures. T71's coach Jan Enjebo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.S. Virgin Isl. Forward Jerome Gumbs (194-82, college: USF) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and international swingman Pitt Koster (178-89) added 22 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Residence. T71 have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Residence at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Soleuvre. T71 are looking forward to face Sparta (#4) in Bertrange in the next round. Residence will play on the road against BBC Nitia in Bettembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
