Regular Season Round 6: Heffingen - Sparta 65-77

Bottom-ranked Heffingen is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Sparta (4-2) 77-65. It looked good early as Heffingen took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sparta had a 34-23 second period charge getting the lead and Heffingen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-77. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Heffingen to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Heffingen 44-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. American point guard Kasey Ulin (184-82, college: Dickinson St.) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Belgian forward Thomas Dreesen (199-88, agency: Court Side) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward William Walker (201-87, college: Bethel (IN), agency: Warren Sports International) with 25 points and 8 rebounds and Portuguese power forward Helder Carvalho (205-84) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Sparta have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Basket Esch. Newly promoted Heffingen still closes the standings with six games lost. Sparta will play against league's leader T71 in Dudelange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heffingen will play on the road against Amicale (#5) in Steinsel and hopes to get finally their first victory.
