Everything went according to plan when second ranked Shiga L-Stars (5-1) edged on the road 6th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (2-4) 82-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 25-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 43-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M - C.C., agency: VVG Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing.
