Regular Season Round 6: Tarbes - Bourges 65-74

Date: October 29, 2011
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Tarbes (4-2) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Bourges (4-2) 74-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bourges led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bourges outrebounded Tarbes 35-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Catherine Joens (180-82) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. International power forward Marielle Amant (191-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Ana-Maria Cata-Chitiga (195-89) who recorded 15 points and international forward Florence Lepron (182-85) added 12 points respectively. Four Tarbes players scored in double figures. Tarbes' coach Pascal Pisan rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Tarbes and Landes. Bourges will face Nantes Reze (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarbes will play against Basket Landes (#4) in Mont de Marsan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
