Regular Season Round 6: Lattes Montp. - Landes 59-53

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lattes. Top-ranked Lattes Montpellier faced 3rd ranked Basket Landes. Host Lattes Montpellier (6-0) defeated guests from Mont de Marsan (4-2) 59-53. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Basket Landes. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-13. But Basket Landes won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lattes Montpellier made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kristen Mann (188-83, college: UCSB, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 23 points. Canadian forward Stephany Skrba (188-87, college: Michigan) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Jennifer Humphrey (191-84, college: Kentucky, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Senegalese power forward Bineta Diouf (186-79) added 13 points respectively. Lattes Montpellier have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Challes. Basket Landes at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Bourges and Tarbes. Lattes Montpellier is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nice (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Basket Landes will play against Tarbes (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
