Undefeated leader Perfumerias Avenida delivered the third consecutive win on Saturday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Arranz-Jopisa Burgos (1-2) 83-77 in Salamanca. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arranz-Jopisa Burgos won third quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perfumerias Avenida dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Arranz-Jopisa Burgos' 46. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard DeWanna Bonner (193-87, college: Auburn, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 17 points. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Lucas Mondelo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (193-89) who recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Lorena Infantes (171-81) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Perfumerias Avenida have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 3-0 record, which they share with Ros Casares and Rivas Ecopolis. Newly promoted Arranz-Jopisa Burgos dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Perfumerias Avenida is looking forward to face Hondarribia-Irun (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
