The most exciting game of round 5 in the Superleague took place in Waterford. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Waterford Wildcats (2-3) to eighth ranked Peugeot Meteors (2-3) 60-58 in the game for the fourth place. Peugeot Meteors forced 27 Waterford Wildcats turnovers and outrebounded them 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Waterford Wildcats helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
