Regular Season Round 3: UNB Obenasa - Gran Canaria 49-68

Date: October 29, 2011
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Gran Canaria and 11th ranked Navarra Pamplona had identical 1-1 record. But Navarra Pamplona was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Las Palmas 68-49. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Gran Canaria's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-15 extending their advantage to 19 points. It was a good game for American forward D'andra Moss (183-88, college: VCU) who led her team to a victory with 29 points. Forward Patricia Arguello (178-87) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Danielle Burgin (196-87, college: Charlotte, agency: Merit Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian power forward Jovana Rad (187-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 13 points in the effort for Navarra Pamplona. Gran Canaria (2-1) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mann Filter and Girona. Navarra Pamplona at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Gran Canaria will play against Real Celta Vigo (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Navarra Pamplona will play against Arranz-Jopisa Burgos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
