Regular Season Round 3: MIA Academy - Olimpi 72-80

Undefeated MIA (2-1) recorded its first loss in Tbilisi. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Olympus (1-1) 80-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MIA. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Olympus players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Giorgi Gamqrelidze (183-86, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists. Serbian center Ilija Milutinovic (213-88, college: Oakland, agency: Global Sports Plaza) helped adding 24 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Robo Kreps (182-88, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: N.E.T.) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Akaki Dvalishvili (206-90) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Newly promoted Olympus maintains seventh place with 1-1 record. MIA at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with Kutaisi and STU Tbilisi. Olympus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Sokhumi.
