A very interesting game took place in Badalona. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Asefa Estudiantes (2-3) to sixteenth ranked FIATC Joventut (2-3) 74-71 in the fight for the tenth place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Asefa Estudiantes won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-Nigerian forward Derrick Obasohan (199-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 18 points for the winning side and American point guard Pooh Jeter (179-83, college: Portland) accounted for 13 points. FIATC Joventut's coach Salvador Maldonado allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international forward Carlos Jimenez (205-76) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (186-89) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Asefa Estudiantes in the defeat. FIATC Joventut moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Asefa Estudiantes. FIATC Joventut's next round opponent will be league's leader Regal FC Barcelona on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
