Regular Season Round 6: P.Cukier SIDEn - Polonia 94-74

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked P.Cukier SIDEn (4-1) rolled over 9th ranked Polonia (2-4) in Torun 94-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by P.Cukier SIDEn. Polonia managed to win fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. P.Cukier SIDEn dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Polonia's 28 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. P.Cukier SIDEn forced 20 Polonia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Przemyslaw Lewandowski (204-78, agency: Promotex) notched 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Jacek Jarecki (197-88) supported him with 18 points. Four P.Cukier SIDEn players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by guard Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) did not help to save the game for Polonia. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. P.Cukier SIDEn have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Polonia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Sudety and Start Lublin. P.Cukier SIDEn will meet MOSiR Krosno (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Polonia will play against AZS Szczecin (#6) and hope to secure a win.
