Regular Season Round 7: Latina Basket - Torino 74-81

Date: October 30, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Latina Basket (2-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Torino (6-1) 81-74 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 26-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Torino forced 20 Latina Basket turnovers. Luca Fontecchio (202-91, agency: Players Group) fired 17 points for the winners. The former international power forward Francesco Conti (205-83) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Five Torino players scored in double figures. Riccardo Romano (191-84) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Serbian forward Marko Micevic (198-89) added 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Torino. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Omegna. Latina Basket lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth place with five games lost. Torino will face Anagni (#4) at home in the next round. Latina Basket will play against Castelletto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
