A very close game took place in Osaka between Tochigi Brex and Hitachi Sunrockers. Seventh ranked Tochigi Brex (2-6) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (6-2). Tochigi Brex managed to escape with a 2-point win 69-67 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 21-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) who added 18 points and 5 steals during the contest. At the losing side international power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and international guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tochigi Brex moved-up to sixth place. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers keep the third position with two games lost. Tochigi Brex will meet at home higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
