Regular Season Round 7: Napoli - Perugia 68-61

There was a small surprise when leader Napoli (7-0) won against at home leader Perugia (4-3) 68-61 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Perugia won third quarter 17-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Perugia 48-31 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian guard Bernardo Musso (192-86) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Nelson Rizzitiello (198-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Filippo Baldi Rossi (207-91) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Davide Poltroneri (195-85) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Napoli. Newly promoted Napoli maintains first place with 7-0 record which they share with defeated Perugia. Loser Perugia still keeps top position with three games lost. Napoli will face Comsum.it SI (#3) in Siena in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Perugia will play at home against Orlandina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
