Very expected game in Spanga where 10th ranked Orongo Dragons (1-5) were crushed by fifth ranked Akropol (5-1) 95-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Akropol led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Orongo Dragons' 34. Akropol forced 19 Orongo Dragons turnovers and outrebounded them 49-27 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Akropol looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Orongo Dragons' players. The best player for the winners was forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) who scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Derlin Kumbi (191-89) chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Akropol's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Alain Hakizimana (198-88) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Robin Johansson (184-91) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Orongo Dragons players scored in double figures. Akropol moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Blackeberg and Taby. Orongo Dragons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Eskilstuna. Akropol will meet Taby Basket (#4) on the road in the next round. Orongo Dragons will play against Eskilstuna (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
