Regular Season Round 3: Umbertide - Pozzuoli 62-59

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Umbertide as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Umbertide edged 7th ranked Pall.Pozzuoli at home 62-59. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pall.Pozzuoli won third quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American power forward Tiffany Stansbury (191-83, college: N.Carolina St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Milica Jovanovic (189-89) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Umbertide's coach Lorenzo Serventi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Daliborka Vilipic (196-75) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and forward Melissa Fazio (182-79, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 15 points. Four Pall.Pozzuoli players scored in double figures. Umbertide have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Pall.Pozzuoli at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with Bracco Geas and Cagliari CUS. Pall.Pozzuoli will play next round against Bracco Geas trying to get back on the winning streak. Umbertide will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Taranto on the road.
