Regular Season Round 5: Valga - Tln Kalev 76-88

The biggest surprise of round 5 in KML was guest Tln Kalev's (2-3) road victory over Valga/CKE (#8) 88-76 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-76. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) who scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Russian center Aleksei Fedortchuk (210-86, agency: RIZO) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. British forward Samuel Cricelli (200-85, college: Caldwell) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian guard Edgars Cunda (196-84, agency: Court Side) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Valga/CKE players scored in double figures. Tln Kalev moved-up to fourth place, which they share with TTU/Kalev. Valga/CKE at the other side stay at the bottom position with four games lost. Tln Kalev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Valga/CKE will play at home against the league's leader Tartu Ulikool (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
