There was no surprise when 9th ranked Gernika (2-4) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Space Tanit Eivissa (4-2) 75-58. The game was mostly controlled by Space Tanit Eivissa. Gernika was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alicia Gonzalez (-86) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and forward Anna Boleda (181-81) supported her with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Space Tanit Eivissa players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Alysha Harvin (178-88, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Gernika. Her fellow American import forward Tynikki Crook (185-89, college: Marshall) added 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Space Tanit Eivissa moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Conquero and Las Gaunas. Newly promoted Gernika dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Space Tanit Eivissa's next round opponent will be Cravic Reus (#15) and are hoping to win another game.
