Date: November 2, 2011
The game in Lund was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Visby Ladies (3-2) played at the court of 8th ranked IK Eos (1-4). Visby Ladies managed to secure a 8-point victory 64-56 on Wednesday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But IK Eos won second period 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Visby Ladies made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Forward Marlene Wallin (175-81) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and American swingman Ashleigh Brown (183-87, college: Miami, OH) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Visby Ladies players scored in double figures. International forward Helen Findley (185-89) responded with 15 points and guard Erika Persson (177-88) scored 12 points. IK Eos' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Visby Ladies moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mark Basket. IK Eos lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Umea. Visby Ladies will meet at home higher ranked Solna Vikings (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
