Regular Season Round 22: Fuerza Regia - Volcanes 107-65

LNBP top team - Fuerza Regia (16-4) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Volcanes (0-22) in Monterrey 107-65. The game without a history. Fuerza Regia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Volcanes' 40. Fuerza Regia had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fuerza Regia made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import guard Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) contributed with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia's coach Reginald Jordan felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Devin Laushan replied with 16 points and 5 assists and naturalized American swingman Eric Martin (196-71) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Volcanes. Fuerza Regia maintains first position with 16-4 record. Volcanes at the other side still closes the standings. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to face Panteras (#12) in Aguascalientes in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Volcanes will play at home against Pioneros in Cancun and hope to get finally their first victory.
