Regular Season Round 23: Toros - Barreteros 89-74

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Barreteros (13-9) lost to third ranked Toros (15-6) in Nuevo Laredo 74-89. The game was mostly controlled by Toros. Barreteros was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Ofoegbu chipped in 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Toros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized American guard Forrest Fisher (193-84) produced 29 points and American guard Melvin Council (191-82, college: Robert Morris) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Toros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-6 record having just two points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Barreteros at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Toros' next round opponent will be Panteras (#12) in Aguascalientes and are hoping to win another game. Barreteros will play on the road against the league's leader Fuerza Regia (#1) in Monterrey.
