Regular Season Round 11: KTP - Nilan Bisons 89-97

There was no surprise in Kotka where 7th ranked KTP-Basket (4-5) was defeated by first ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (7-2) 97-89 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KTP-Basket won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. American forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and swingman Juho-Matti Lehtoranta (194-89) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Five Loimaan Korikonkarit and four KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. KTP-Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Loimaan Korikonkarit have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-2 record. KTP-Basket at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit will have a break next round. KTP-Basket will play at home against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
