Regular Season Round 5: Wildcats - Hawks 87-71

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Wollongong Hawks (2-5) were defeated on the road by third ranked Perth Wildcats (4-1) 87-71 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-71. Perth Wildcats dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Wollongong Hawks' 28. Perth Wildcats forced 22 Wollongong Hawks turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Perth Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Wollongong Hawks' players. American point guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis, agency: Warren Sports International) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and point guard Brad Robbins (186-85) chipped in 16 points, 6 assists and 6 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field).
