Regular Season Round 7: Sudety - MKS DG 72-79

Rather expected game in Jelenia Gora where 10th ranked Sudety (2-5) was defeated by eighth ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (4-3) 79-72 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sudety won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza forced 20 Sudety turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza made 12 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Michal Woloszyn (202-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Forward Pawel Zmarlak (195-82) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza's coach Wojciech Wieczorek used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) responded with 21 points (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Rosa Radom. Newly promoted Sudety dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza will face SKK Siedlce (#9) at home in the next round. Sudety will play against MKS Znicz Basket in Pruszkow.
