Very important is a home loss of second ranked Shiga L-Stars (5-2) against fourth ranked Shimane Magic (5-2) on Saturday night. Host Shiga L-Stars were crushed by Shimane Magic in Shiga 103-77. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Shiga L-Stars. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Shiga L-Stars' 48. Shimane Magic had a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Shiga L-Stars' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shimane Magic moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Shiga L-Stars. Shimane Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again against the league's second-placed Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
