PLK top team - PGE Turow (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked LKS Sphinx (2-6) in Zgorzelec 92-54. The game was mostly controlled by PGE Turow. LKS Sphinx was better in fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to LKS Sphinx's 32. They outrebounded LKS Sphinx 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Australian-Dutch center Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) stepped up and scored 25 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard David Jackson (193-86, college: W.Illinois) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jermaine Mallett (190-88, college: Missouri St., agency: Interperformances) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PGE Turow have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Newly promoted LKS Sphinx keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with AZS PW. PGE Turow will play against Anwil (#3) in Wloclawek in the next round, which may be the game of the day. LKS Sphinx will play on the road against AZS Koszalin (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
