Regular Season Round 8: Le Havre - Roche 88-83

We should mention about the upset which took place in Le Havre, where higher ranked Roche (4-4) lost to twelfth ranked Le Havre (3-5) in a road game 83-88 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Roche. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-83. Roche was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Kayla Smith (181-88, college: California, PA) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Bintou Dieme (165-84) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Le Havre's coach Laurent Chamu allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Christelle Morel (181-83) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Johanna Tayeau (173-89) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Five Roche players scored in double figures. Le Havre moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Limoges. Loser Roche keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Le Havre will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#14) in Paris in the next round.
