Regular Season Round 6: NTNUI Basket - Gimle 39-72

The game in Trondheim supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Gimle (3-2) played at the court of 6th ranked NTNUI Basket (1-7). Gimle smashed NTNUI Basket 72-39 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gimle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding NTNUI Basket to just 2 points in fourth quarter. Gimle dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to NTNUI Basket's 26. Gimle forced 33 NTNUI Basket turnovers. Strangely NTNUI Basket outrebounded Gimle 44-25 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian forward Rositsa Ilieva (175-87) who scored 32 points and 5 steals. point guard Amanda Gran (174-93) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Kaja Krogh (178-91) who recorded 4 points and 9 rebounds and guard Hanna Gaarder added 10 points respectively. NTNUI Basket's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gimle moved-up to third place, which they share with Ammerud. NTNUI Basket lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Gimle will meet at home Oslo Tigers (#5) in the next round. NTNUI Basket will play against the league's second-placed Ullern in Oslo.
