Regular Season Round 5: Panasonic T. - Toshiba BT 84-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders' (0-10) road loss to seventh ranked Panasonic Trians (3-7) 74-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Panasonic Trians. Toshiba Thunders was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panasonic Trians made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international point guard Hiroyuki Kinoshita (178-80) who scored 20 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. The former international swingman Shohei Kikuchi (190-85) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) added 10 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Panasonic Trians and five Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panasonic Trians moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tochigi Brex. Toshiba Thunders at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Panasonic Trians will face Tochigi Brex (#7) at home in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and hope to get finally their first victory.
