Regular Season Round 7: BBC Nitia - Residence 76-100

There was no surprise in Bettembourg where 9th ranked BBC Nitia (1-6) was crushed by seventh ranked Residence (3-4) 100-76. It looked good early as BBC Nitia took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Residence had a 29-23 second period charge getting the lead and BBC Nitia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-100. Residence shot 60.9 percent from the field. They also forced 20 BBC Nitia turnovers. Strangely BBC Nitia outrebounded Residence 36-23 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman Pitt Koster (178-89) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 4 assists. American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Residence players scored in double figures. Coach Kevin Magdowski's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Latvian power forward Janis Poznaks (202-83) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and American power forward William Arre (199-86, college: Lock Haven, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for BBC Nitia in the defeat. Residence maintains seventh place with 3-4 record. BBC Nitia lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Residence's next round opponent will be higher ranked Amicale (#5) in Steinsel and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BBC Nitia will play on the road against Soleuvre (#8) in Belvaux and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
