Regular Season Round 7: Clermont - St Quentin 91-96

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Saint-Quentin (5-2) beat on the road 15th ranked Stade Clermont (2-5) 96-91 on Saturday. Stade Clermont was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-15 charge of Saint-Quentin, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for forward Kevin Bichard (192-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. Forward Julien Lesieu (199-83) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Jonathan McClark (200-77, college: Rider) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Bianco Matanga (188-87) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint-Quentin moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Stade Clermont dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Saint-Quentin will face Lievin Basket (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stade Clermont will play against the league's second-placed Blois and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
