Rapla (2-3) survived in overtime against TTU/Kalev (2-4) by eight points 106-98 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 8-point victory in overtime. Rapla forced 32 TTU/Kalev turnovers. TTU/Kalev was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (180-93) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Janar Soo (199-91) chipped in 30 points and 6 assists. Rapla's coach Indrek Ruut used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Andrew Arnold (208-86, college: Lewis-Clark) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Rapla moved-up to fifth place. TTU/Kalev at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Rapla will face KK Parnu (#7) on the road in the next round. TTU/Kalev will play against Valga/CKE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
