Regular Season Round 8: Oita H.Devils - Fukuoka Rizing 79-92

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Oita Heat Devils (3-4) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Fukuoka Rizing (3-4) 92-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-79. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Oita Heat Devils. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
